About this tool

Sanitize PDF before sharing: Rebuild a selected PDF from rendered page images to remove metadata, annotations, attachments, forms, and hidden text layers.

Use cases

  • Flatten a PDF copy before sending it outside the company.
  • Remove annotations and embedded data by rebuilding pages.
  • Keep the cleanup local and avoid claiming pixel-level redaction.

How to use it

  1. Select a local file as input.
  2. Click Run and wait for processing.
  3. Download or copy the output.

Notes

  • Runs locally in your browser; files are not uploaded to MakeTool servers.
  • Local-only processing with no network required.
  • PDF redaction depends on extractable text; scanned or encrypted PDFs fail safely.
  • The redacted copy rebuilds pages so old text is not recoverable by copy, search, or text extraction.
